Overview
JWS Coatings UK was instructed to carry out the external re-coating of architectural cladding panels at Porcelanosa’s flagship Manchester showroom. The works formed part of a scheduled exterior maintenance and branding upgrade. All coatings were applied to manufacturer specification, with minimal disruption to the site’s ongoing retail operation.
Surface Preparation
All elevations were fully washed and degreased to remove accumulated dirt, organic material, and surface pollutants. Existing coatings were abraded to create an appropriate key, with localised remedial work carried out to address minor substrate imperfections. Masking was applied to all glazed and adjacent surfaces.
Application
A high-build cladding coating system was spray-applied over five working days using air-assisted and HVLP systems. Application was sequenced by elevation to allow access continuity and minimise downtime. A UV-stable, weather-resistant topcoat was selected to meet long-term performance requirements.
Result
The full exterior was coated within programme and with zero overspray incidents. The final finish met project criteria for uniformity, gloss level, and colour accuracy. Full handover documentation, including technical datasheets, COSHH assessments, and QA records, was provided on completion.
