Our intumescent coating process – explained in 3 simple stages:
Spray Application
A thin layer of intumescent coating directly onto structural steel using a high-pressure spray system.
Heat Activation
In a fire, the coating reacts to extreme temperatures. It expands up to 50× its original thickness, forming a dense, insulating protective layer.
Full Protection
The now-expanded, hardened char insulates the steel, maintaining its load-bearing strength for 30, 60, or 120 minutes (depending on specification).
